A selection of work by female artists on display in Palacio de Bellas Artes.

well yes, I guess its more common that women speak about female matters, so I would think this was a woman’s work. but in my opinion it is always good that men get involved and speak/fight/work for women matters, and viceversa.
you read my mind.
stayed here for a while watching this and trying to make a conclusión, and thats exactly what I thought.
First I thought the paintings were made by the same artist with similar purpose, but it seems that they were not.
I can tell that cause in the full size image the small letters -even though are not quite legible- dont look the same.
So, i believe the paintings might have been taken out of they original context, and the curators then made their own message
The skin tone of both the chicken and the woman are almost exactly the same. Could it be as simple as aesthetics that link these paintings? Doubt it, but just a thought.
I know! I felt exactly the same when I was in the exhibition. I bet if we really thought about it we could come up with some ideas about the objectification of women, treated like meat, brutalised and shaped by men. To be honest, I do not know what was going through the curator’s mind. I wonder if they were male or female, and if that matters.

It’s very likely. Do you think it matters whether the curator is male or female? I guess it does.
