Many residents of Tepotzlan oppose the extension of the nearby road as it will rip through ancient Mayan burial sites, destroy forests and mean pulling down homes. I could completely see their point, and respect it, but when I returned home, my Mexican mama Rosita disagreed. The road is dangerous now, not reflecting the huge increase in cars and tourism to the area, and there are regularly major accidents and crawling traffic jams.
