Hmmmm…one of the closest cities would be Belem. I took an overnight bus to a small town which I forget its name but I can find it for you if you want. That bus was around $30 I think, and fairly comfortable. I then took another bus for around 6 hours to Barreirinhas, which also cost very little. I then stayed at a lovely guesthouse run by beautiful people called Cama, Café & Aventura. I don’t think the rooms were that cheap, but I’d just been sleeping in a hammock, then the worst dorm in the world for several weeks and wanted a bed! I literally can’t express how amazing the dunes are, and definitely aim to return one day.
Just to have an idea, how much money do you think it will cost for a “regular tourist” to get to this place from the closest “big city” ?
